This page opens the image editor with a 1:1 frame and the Circle mask already switched on. Add a photo, move the square over the face or logo you want, and the export is a round PNG with transparent corners, ready for an email signature, a team page or a slide. The default frame covers 90 % of the shorter side, so a 1200 × 800 photo gives a 720 × 720 circle until you resize the frame. Cropping and encoding run in your browser; the photo is not uploaded.
Google, Zoom and most social networks already show profile pictures inside a circle, so for those a square upload is enough and lets them do the masking. A round file matters where the picture is shown exactly as it is: an HTML email signature, a speaker slide, a Word or Google Docs page, a website builder without a round-image option, or a sticker. Outlook for Windows ignores the CSS that rounds images on the web, so a signature photo only looks round there when the file itself is round.
The circle is the largest one that fits inside your square crop. Everything outside it becomes fully transparent, and the edge is anti-aliased, so the outline stays smooth instead of stepping from pixel to pixel. The output is always PNG, whatever the format menu says, because PNG is the common format that every email client and office program reads with transparency.
If you switch the ratio to Free or 4:3, the mask follows the frame and you get an oval. When you crop several images in one go, the frame is scaled onto each of them and kept square, so every file comes out as a true circle.
A round PNG of a photo is large because PNG is lossless. In our test, the default 720 × 720 circle from a 1200 × 800 JPG of 224,092 bytes came out at 776,828 bytes. Most uses need far fewer pixels. Email signatures usually show a photo at 80 to 120 px, so a 240 × 240 file covers high-density screens at double size; a slide or team page rarely needs more than 600 × 600. Drag the frame corners to make the crop smaller, or run the result through the resize tool, which keeps PNG transparency.
The settings panel also has the rest of the editor: straighten a tilted head shot, or lift the brightness a little for a photo taken against a window.
Add a photo
Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP or BMP file, or paste one with Ctrl+V. The square frame with the circle mask opens right away.
Place the frame
Drag the square over the face or logo and pull a corner to resize it. The dimmed corners show what the circle cuts away. Arrow keys nudge it 1 px, Shift+arrows 10 px.
Apply
Press Apply crop, then Apply edits. The preview shows the round result.
Download
Save the round PNG. The corners outside the circle are transparent.
