How ImgCompress.app handles your data: images are processed in your browser and never uploaded, and we run no accounts or tracking of our own.
Last updated: June 26, 2026
ImgCompress.app runs entirely in your browser. When you compress, convert, resize, or edit an image, the file is read and processed on your own device using your browser’s built-in capabilities. Your images are never uploaded to a server, never leave your device, and are never seen by us. Closing or refreshing the tab clears the working files from memory.
There are no user accounts, no sign-up, and no login. We do not ask for your name, email, or any personal detail to use the tools. We do not collect, store, copy, or transmit the images you process, and we do not build profiles or sell data — we hold none to begin with.
A few small settings are saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers your choices between visits. These stay on your device and are never sent to us: • your light or dark theme preference • your answer to the cookie notice • whether you dismissed the “install app” prompt You can clear these at any time through your browser’s site-data settings.
The site itself does not set tracking cookies; core preferences use local storage instead. Cookies may be set by the third-party services described below — for example, by advertising partners when ads are shown. Our cookie notice lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Some pages may show ads from third-party advertising partners to keep the tools free. These partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure how ads perform and, where permitted, to show ads based on your past browsing. We do not share your images or any personal data with advertisers, because we collect none. You can opt out of personalized ads through your browser settings and through industry pages such as aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
To run the site we rely on a small number of outside providers: • Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site and provides cookie-free, aggregate traffic statistics. • Google Fonts serves the typefaces used in the interface; loading a font sends your IP address to Google as part of the normal web request. Each provider receives only the technical data needed to deliver its part of the page, never your images.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It does not set cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and reports only aggregate numbers such as page views and referrers. We cannot identify individual people from it.
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over personal data a company holds about you, including access, correction, deletion, and objection to certain uses. Because we do not collect or store personal data, there is nothing on our side to retrieve or erase. For data held by the advertising or infrastructure providers above, use their own controls and the opt-out links in this policy. If you have a request or question, email us and we will help.
The site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Since the tools work without any account or personal information, no such data is requested from any user.
You can use ImgCompress.app from anywhere, and your images are processed locally in your browser wherever you are. The hosting and advertising providers named above may process technical request data on servers in other countries; their own policies and safeguards govern those transfers.
If we change how the site works or which providers we use, we will update this page and the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
